A solid win against University of Nottingham

In the most recent match, IBB Polonia London overcame University of Nottingham. Despite an injury stricken squad the performance was impressive and this secured three more league points.

From the first serve to the last hit, Greg Niski’s players were in full control of the match. With a winning score of 25-19 the first set went smoothly and in the second set the assembled fans in Northolt School witnessed an even contest, but in key moments it was the favourites who were the more experienced and controlled the point. The third set was as straightforward as the first and it was a strong swing from Joao Alves from four that gave the victory to IBB Polonia London. 

„It was a tough match for us; our first team was incomplete so we had to solve the problems in a very short time: we played well and I’m pleased we made it look relatively easy” summarised Andrea Maggio.

There are two important games remaining; on the 1st April against Richmond Docklands and a week later against Malory Eagles. The final game will be to decide who finishes second in the Super League.

Middle blocker Godi Jibi said after the game: „In today’s game against University of Nottingham we played well and returned to wining ways. In the context of the season and the upcoming games we should be pleased. Next week w play local rivals Richmond Docklands and then we go against Malory Eagles in a key game”.
