PGE Skra Belchatow and IBB Polonia London can be justifiably proud of their long term effective cooperation. Both clubs are clear that their relationship is thriving and new ideas and plans positively impact their development and popularise volleyball and help to achieve the long term goals. Their strong relationship is a good reason to be proud and they hope their work serves as a model for other clubs to follow.
Huge steps have been achieved in terms of sport, organisation and marketing by IBB Polonia London. They are the pioneers of volleyball as far as the UK is concerned and are aiming towards similarly ambitious results in Europe. The club from Belchatow, Poland had a huge part in the evolution of the London based side; their know how in terms of sporting and marketing/business excellence has been followed by the English Champions.
It was in Belchatow, that IBB Polonia London played their home match in the CEV Challenge Cup against Fino Kaposvar. The team’s fans from London also took part in the „All Poland Volleyball Fan Jamboree” while the players played a friendly match against the giants of PGE Skra Belchatow. In return the Poles took part in the London Legacy Cup. PGE Skra Belchatow were an enormous support for IBB Polonia London during the ongoing pandemic. When the restrictions imposed in the UK prevented The Club from training, their partners welcome the squad and support staff with open arms and provided their professional infrastructure to help make life as comfortable as possible.
The relationship between IBB Polonia London and PGE Skra Belchatow also has been ongoing in terms of marketing and business development. During the CEV Champions League matches in Poland, the logos of both clubs were proudly displayed on the LED banners along the side of the court. This is just one example of the exchange of international knowledge and experience between the two clubs, and also the evolution of volleyball across the world.
The fruitful work between the two clubs is developing once again, and news of this will be released imminently.
„I have been involved in volleyball for a good number of years and know very well what a robust partner looks like, and IBB Polonia London has been such a partner for eight years. The saying “a friend in need is a friend indeed” exists, but the two clubs have been together through thick and thin over the years. I am delighted that the club based in England (where there live so many Poles), with its Polish roots, has developed so strongly and is growing volleyball for all of its fans to enjoy. I am confident that there are many successes ahead of both clubs, and who knows, one day we may meet in the final of the Champions League!” said Konrad Piechocki, President of KPS Skra Belchatow SA.
“Our partnership with PGE Skra Belchatow is something of which we are very proud. The staff at PGE Skra saw our potential in 2013. The most important aspect of our work together is sincerity, which PGE Skra provides year on year. The global brand, that is the club from Belchatow, is the authentication of what we are aiming for. Thanks, amongst others, to the people of Belchatow, we are competing in the Champions League for the third successive year; we trained and played in Belchatow, and their staff can help train ours on the world arena of sports events at the „Energy Sports Hall”. PGE Skra are our friends who live with the motto „More than passion, more than volleyball” said Bartek Łuszcz, CEO of IBB Polonia London.
