We start preparations for the upcoming season
Not long ago IBB Polonia London began training for the 2022/2023 season and will continue to fulfil its targets. The aims are to win domestic trophies and to improve its potential away from sport.
2022/23 will be an important time for The Club as it celebrates its fifty year anniversary; the significant event motivates the players and staff, yet further, for the upcoming months. IBB Polonia London aims to celebrate its birthday with league and cup gold medals once again.
After the last season, which was challenging and unsatisfactory in the international arenas, the London based team played with some very experienced players joined by ProVolley Academy players and came fifth in the Super League. In hindsight, the fifth place is actually a great achievement for the very young squad. Much more familiar with winning competitions, The Club intends to return to the top of the table and to win the National Cup once again.
Training began towards the end of August and many eager players declared their interests to try out for the team. Following some training that allowed the coaching staff to select the best players for the season ahead. The lucky players names will begin to be announced to media soon.
Following tryouts, the focus now moves to the start of the season; the first official match for IBB Polonia London is on 8th October in the National Cup second round; currently the opponents are unknown and will be revealed after the preliminary rounds are completed on 24th September. The league begins on 22nd October at home against Newcastle Staffs; more information about the calendar will be found on The Club’s website: https://polonia.vc/fixtures-results/.
Apart from the building of the senior squad, IBB Polonia London is also focussing on the Pro Volley Academy players in the 2022/23 season and training began at the start of September; this season a huge number of eager young players applied to The Academy, who. are to receive volleyball education as well as an academic one and will compete in youth competitions.
The Club will push upwards with its aims outside of the sports-hall. With the unfaltering financial and business minded support of the titular sponsor: IBB Builders Merchants, the team will continue to popularise volleyball in the UK, promoting the sporting union between Poland and England based on traditions and increasing the attractiveness of its brand. Business potential will be developed as well as improving facilities for its players, workers and potential partners. The continuation of the partnership with PGE Skra Belchatow is a priority as well as improving the connections with other clubs in Europe. This will grow the group of supporters and club sponsors and will maintain the interest of TV companies such as Polsat Sport and BT Sport and other mass media.
