The anticipation is building as the 2024/2025 volleyball season is about to kick off, and we are thrilled to announce the details of our first game. Mark your calendars for the 12th of October as we take on the Essex Rebels during the Opening Weekend at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering. The match is set to start at 12:30 PM, and we are confident it will be a thrilling showdown you won’t want to miss.
The match will take place during the Opening Weekend at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering, with the first serve scheduled for 12:30 PM. This venue is quickly becoming a favorite for season openers, and for the second consecutive year, it will host our team’s first match. Last year, we started the season strong with a decisive victory against Leeds Gorst, and we’re aiming to replicate that success against Essex Rebels this time around.
For the second year in a row, the opening matches will be played at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering. Last year proved to be a strong start to the season with a reasonably straightforward victory against Leeds Gorst. This season, the opposition will be Essex Rebels. IBB Polonia has an excellent record against Alex Porter’s team. Last season, Essex were victorious in the National Cup, but it was Niski who was the winning coach when the two teams met again in the semi-final play-offs. The team has recently been strengthened by ex-IBB Polonia Academy graduates who are now pursuing their studies and volleyball careers at this prestigious university. – summarised Chris Hykiel, IBB Polonia London sport director.
