Grzegorz Niski, will continue to lead the team in the 2024/2025 season. Niski, who has been with the club for several years, not only coaches the senior men’s team but also oversees the Pro Volley Academy and the IBB Polonia London Junior Academy. His contributions have been instrumental in the club’s recent successes, including IBB Polonia London silver medal finish last season.
Niski’s deep connection with IBB Polonia London dates back to his playing days before he retired in 2014. After hanging up his jersey, he dedicated himself to nurturing young volleyball talent. His return to the club in 2021 marked the beginning of a new chapter, where his ability to connect with young athletes quickly led to significant achievements.
The club has seen steady progress under his guidance. In the 2021/22 season, the men’s team secured fifth place in the Super League, while the Pro Volley Academy team earned a silver medal. In 2022/2023 Niski led the men’s team to third place and reached the semi-finals of the National Cup, with another silver medal for the U18 team. Last season, the men’s team finished as runners-up, a testament to Niski’s leadership and the team’s growth.
-This will be another season for me with IBB Polonia London, and I am extremely happy about it. As every year, our goal is to compete for the highest trophies – the English Cup and the English Championship. Of course, sports can be unpredictable, and things don’t always go as planned. However, I have complete trust in this group of people I work with. I know they will fight for every ball, every point, and every set to achieve our common goals.- summarised Grzegorz Niski.
The 2024/2025 volleyball season is set to begin, and we’re excited to share details about our first game. On October 12th, we will face the Essex Rebels during the Opening Weekend at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering. The match will start at 12:30 PM, and we anticipate an action-packed game that fans won’t want to miss.
