In a thrilling five-set match, IBB Polonia London earned a valuable point against the University of Nottingham, currently third in the Super League standings.
Today, IBB Polonia London hosted the University of Nottingham at our home venue. We were thrilled to have the support of new players from Poland, who seamlessly integrated into our team and added significant value. The match was a rollercoaster: we faced a setback in the first set, losing 20-25, but bounced back in the second, securing a 25-22 victory. The third set was an intense battle, with the guests edging us out 28-26 after a deuce. We dominated the fourth set, winning 25-19, pushing the match to a tie-break. In the decisive tie-break, despite our relentless effort, the University of Nottingham emerged victorious.
After the game, the Assistant Coach Sławomir Master shared his thoughts:
“We tried everything in the game today. The plan almost came together, and we came so close to the win. Igor got better throughout the game, and Vaidas was unstoppable in the middle. Nottingham have a very good outside who is big and his even bigger! Tomorrow is another chance to win 3 points against tough opposition. Essex are favourites, but we aim to upset the form book.”
