Not every season ends with a medal. But every season can shape character, reinforce values and set a new course. The 2024/2025 campaign has been a challenging period for IBB Polonia London – a time of change and reflection. Now, we look ahead with our heads held high and renewed determination.
A season that made us stronger
After a successful campaign last year, finishing as runners-up in the English Championship, this season began with its fair share of challenges – tough losses, squad disruptions, injuries and lineup rotations that affected our rhythm.
But IBB Polonia London has never been a team to back down. A crucial tie-break win over Richmond Docklands marked a turning point. The arrival of a new coaching team – head coach Bartosz Kisielewicz and assistant coach Sławomir Master – brought new energy, while a number of Polish reinforcements helped restore balance and drive within the squad. Still, despite our collective efforts, it wasn’t enough to secure our place in the Super League for the next season.
Not the end of the story
Stepping away from the Super League marks a period of transition – not an end, but the beginning of a new phase. Next season, we’ll compete in Division 1, a league that, like English volleyball overall, has grown significantly in recent years. The level of play is rising, with ambitious teams, experienced coaches and talented players creating a dynamic and competitive environment. For us, it’s an exciting new sporting challenge and a chance to continue contributing to the wider growth of volleyball in England.
Stronger together
English volleyball is at its highest level in history – thanks to the efforts of British and international players and coaches, and the sport’s growing popularity across the country. We’re proud to have played our part in that progress and remain committed to supporting the sport’s future. Our mission has always gone beyond competition – we aim to build bridges, share knowledge and collaborate with other clubs to strengthen the entire volleyball ecosystem.
Looking ahead – on and off the court
We will continue to compete for success – in both the league and the English Cup. At the same time, we’ll be looking for opportunities to host major volleyball events in the UK. We believe this sport deserves a bigger stage – in arenas, in the media and in the hearts of fans.
Thank you for your trust and support
We’d like to thank our sponsors, shareholders and partners for your continued belief in our vision – your support allows us to move forward with confidence and ambition.
And above all – thank you to our fans. Your unwavering support is the heart of this club. A new chapter begins, with fresh challenges and new goals. But one thing never changes – Polonia always fights to the end.
What’s next?
In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about our future plans and the direction we want to take. Volleyball in England needs initiatives that combine passion, professionalism and community – and we want to be part of that movement. We’ll be exploring new opportunities – in sport, organisation and infrastructure – to strengthen our club and continue playing an active role in developing volleyball across the UK.
