Last Saturday was the start of the competition for our youths who made the journey north to Coventry as they aim to win the Under 18 National Cup. They play four matches and didn’t meet much resistance along the way.
Pro Volley Academy played the Gold Pool B against Liverpool, Willesden Titans and Ashfield Vipers which started at 10.30am. Greg Niski’s players won the first set to 5 and the second to 14! After a short break they returned to court to take on Willesden Titans and Liverpool: both matches were 2-0 victories where no team passed 20 marks in opposition.
“It was a great first event for us. It is a very different squad compared to the silver medallists last season, but it was a great chance to see them play and secure some valuable wins and experience. I am pleased with our victories and delighted we have come away with maximum points. I am aware that in front of us we have significant challenges in the coming weeks and months. This is because at each event the opposition will be stronger and more demanding” summed up Head Coach Greg Niski.
The next event is in January 2024 and we have our fingers crossed for our youngsters. Everyone is invited to our next senior game for IBB Biology London at 4.30pm at Northolt High School this Saturday 9th December 2024. The match is against Newcastle Staffs and the aim is to secure three more points for the table.
